The girl behind the curtain

I am an American girl who suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder. My name isn’t important because I am probably just like someone in your life, someone you know who struggles with a mental illness…I am your friend, your neighbor, your co-worker.

I wanted to create a place where I could post my thoughts, feelings, opinions surrounding my diagnosis in hopes that I might be able to shed some light or offer support to other people who might be confused and feeling alone or even those who want to understand more to help a friend who might be suffering from the same thing.

These are just my thoughts – you don’t have the agree or understand them but it would be nice if you didn’t comment with rude or disrespectful remarks because nobody likes a douche who feels the need to put others down.

  1. Thank you for putting this out there, mental illness is so misunderstood and people still have fear. I suffer from Bipolar and of course I keep it a secret, in my profession I don’t dare let them know. I also suffer from Anxiety. Every now and then I disappear from work and yes there have been times where I grabbed my purse and just walked out. One time I was even gone for a year. I have managed to keep this job for 20 years. I have a very good union who protects me, all they know is I have a medical condition, but I think it had something to do with the breakup of my marriage. Lets see how my boyfriend does with it. He knows, so far so good. But thank you for putting this out there.
